Werkbericht (Work Report) No. 4 – Typography in Three Dime

Typography does not only happen in two dimensions. Everyday life is full of writing in public space: guidance systems and lettering on buildings are examples for "Typo in building". These are meant to organize, lead, guide and finally help the viewer to get from A to B. However, it can also complete, accompany, entertain … these were potentials we wanted to sound out.
The entertainment concept of a zoo, an orientation aid for an art deco swimming baths, the pedestrian guidance system in the city of Mainz and the signposts of a keep-fit path in the woods – those were just some of the areas of public life which were considered.
